Administrator and Limited User Accounts.

Windows XP Professional / 2000 / Vista.

These operating environments (as well as on occasion others), can be set up to provide both Administrator and Limited / Restricted User accounts. Administrator status is usually required to install software, and those given Limited User status are not be able to access certain commands and files. For example if a Limited / Restricted user attempt to install software they will typically receive error messages relating to a failure of Installshield /Uninstallshield.

When installing licensed copies of any of our software products the resulting installation can be accessed and used by ANY user (Administrator or Limited User). The installer (Administrator) will make available the appropriate application to other users on the machine.

When installing TRIAL copies of either product using the standard CD / download link then Administrator status WILL be required (as standard) to install AND SOMETIMES to run the trial software. This is a function of the mechanism used on TRIAL software ONLY to control usage. Recent updates to download and Trial CD systems will normally allow non-admin users to successfully run the TRIAL software.
